Jackie Aldern grew up in the desert backcountry of Southern California, and is currently based in Los Angeles.
Jackie is a creative producer and post-production editor working in independent cinema, internet content, and immersive experiences since 2012. She draws from a background in contemporary dance and visual art to explore movement, rhythm, and ephemerality in her work. Jackie drives projects with meaningful storytelling, sensory wonder, and thoughtful audience engagement. In her spare time, she's an amateur gardener and aspiring morning person.
Jackie has executed editorial work on a wide range of immersive projects with NightLight Labs and independent clients. She has led post production and marketing for award-winning independent films and online arts & design education. Her original cinematic and experiential work has shown in venues and festivals across the US including REDCAT, The Vortex Dome LA, the Silent Movie Theater LA, Sight of Sound with Dallas Chamber Symphony, CalArts Expo, Tower Theatre Fresno, Oklahoma Contemporary Arts Center, Atlanta Fringe, San Francisco Fringe, and Santa Cruz Fringe.
Jackie holds an MFA in Film/Video and Integrated Media from CalArts, and a BA in Studio Art from CSU Fresno.
